Malmö's traffic and mobility plan sets goals for future travel in the city and is an important piece of the puzzle for Malmö to become a more accessible, healthy, and climate-neutral city.

The Property and Street Office plans, develops, complements, and rebuilds the traffic system to achieve the city's goals. Traffic data is an important part of this work, and we are now looking for a colleague who will focus on traffic volumes in the municipality's road network. Your placement will be in our traffic coordination section within the mobility unit.

Job Responsibilities

In your role with us at the Property and Street Office, you will be responsible for creating a good overview of traffic volumes in the municipality's road network by acting as a client in relation to suppliers of traffic data or sensors for traffic measurement, as well as working for good coordination with other traffic planners, in order to understand and create good insight into specific needs related to flows in the city.

Your role includes being responsible for procuring supplier services and, if necessary, also purchasing required equipment. You will collaborate with other traffic planners in the mobility unit, but also with the rest of the Property and Street Office, and when necessary with other departments and external parties. Collaboration and involvement in our processes are an important part of our work and something you appreciate and thrive on.

Depending on your skills or interests, the position can develop within the field we refer to as intelligent transport systems (ITS), which are closely related to real-time traffic monitoring and traffic control.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a university degree that we assess as relevant and qualifying for the role. If you have worked for a few years as a traffic planner, this is an advantage, but not a requirement – however, we do expect you to have an interest in traffic flows and traffic data. You need to have competence in the database and GIS area to be able to ensure quality and manage the reading of data sets coming from suppliers.

As a person, you work best in a team-oriented environment, where you see collaboration and cooperation with stakeholders and colleagues as a natural part of your work. You have good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form.
